Automatic Burette in Schellbach Stripe
Product Code : EL-GB-10085
Quick answer: This is a reservoir-fed automatic burette in borosilicate glass, fitted with an intermediate PTFE stopcock and a Schellbach stripe for accurate meniscus reading, designed for laboratories running frequent titrations where refilling from a bottle by hand would slow the work down.

How an Automatic Burette Works
An automatic burette is fed from a reservoir bottle mounted above it, so the burette refills itself between titrations instead of being topped up by hand from a separate bottle each time. The intermediate stopcock controls flow between the reservoir and the graduated tube, and the Schellbach stripe — a coloured line running down the back of the tube — makes the meniscus easier to read accurately, which is particularly useful where titrations are run repeatedly through a working day. See Bottles For Automatic Burette for compatible reservoir bottles.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does "automatic" mean for a burette?
It means the burette is fed from a reservoir bottle mounted above it, so it refills itself rather than being topped up by hand from a separate bottle before each titration.
What is a Schellbach stripe for?
It is a coloured line running down the back of the graduated tube that makes the liquid meniscus easier to read accurately, which helps reduce reading error during titration.
What is the stopcock made from?
It has an intermediate PTFE stopcock, which is chemically resistant and self-lubricating.
Does this come with the reservoir bottle?
The reservoir bottle is supplied separately; see Bottles For Automatic Burette and Bottles Automatic Burette. Confirm compatibility at enquiry stage.
